(Thursday - Friday - Saturday)

A weekend “boot camp” of hypnotic power!

Whether you are new to hypnosis or have 100’s of hours of training and performances behind you - or if you are a magician, a mentalist, an NLP practitioner or are just an enthusiast, curious about how the mind works - you will learn amazing new skills and have a blast at this weekend seminar!

This is an eclectic class - we will base the skill levels taught on the experience levels of the participants - and we will cover most every aspect of hypnotic experience possible - from pure hypnosis stage shows, to incorporating hypnosis into other theatrical and magical acts, to performing spontaneous street hypnosis shows, to creating effective clinical hypnosis sessions based on the transformative power and phenomena of stage hypnosis.

At the NGH convention this past spring, we asked several hundred participants what their “specialty” was - stage, street, clinical hypnosis? About 85% of them responded, “Ummmm?” This will be an excellent opportunity for those who love hypnosis but aren’t quite sure what to do with it to develop your personal philosophy of hypnosis and discover your purpose as a practitioner.

This is more than a just another class - This event will draw upon the power of the group to redefine your skills, your deep internal structures and your understandings of hypnotic phenomena. You will leave with more than just motivation and inspiration - You will leave possessing the tools for your personal success!

How Hypnosis Works

Posted on Oct 9th 2007 at 12:12am under Uncategorized by Richard Nongard

The Definition of Hypnosis As described so succinctly by the U.S. Dept. of Education, Human Services Division, hypnosis is:    “The by-pass of the critical factor of the conscious mind (a persons analytical and judgmental ability) followed by the establishment of acceptable selective thinking.” So that this short statement by the US Government makes a little more sense, you must understand that the mind has only four different divisions: The Unconscious Mind is where our instincts are; the things we intrinsically know from birth and throughout life.  The Subconscious Mind starts out empty, then, as we grow and learn it becomes an unlimited database of experiences and perceptions, which then create our beliefs and habits. These ideas and concepts become ‘imbedded’ and are then highly resistant to change. The Conscious Mind is analytical and logical, and is where we spend most of our time. The Conscious Mind is where we problem-solve; it evaluates the specific concern, situation or issue that has its attention at the moment, then makes choices and decisions for day-to-day functioning. The Conscious Mind is also where “will power” comes into play. But as you may have noticed, quite often our will power is not powerful enough, and we often quickly revert back to our old habits and ways. This is due to the influence of the Critical Factor section of our mind. The Critical Factor is the gate-keeper between the Subconscious Mind and the Conscious Mind. It functions as a filter for new information coming in from the Conscious Mind, and compares/contrasts it to the existing database of beliefs in the Subconscious Mind. When the newly introduced data does not jibe with the existing database, the Critical Factor rejects it, by not allowing changes in emotional or behavioral responses to occur. This is why it is so difficult to break habits or change our beliefs. “The bypass of the critical factor” of the Government’s definition refers to the hypnotic processes’ release of the imposed limiting beliefs - essentially disarming the Critical Factor - which then allows emotional or behavioral hypnotic suggestions to pass through the Conscious Mind and into the Subconscious Mind. “The establishment of acceptable selective thinking” refers to the actual creation of new beliefs in the Subconscious Mind through suggestibility - a sort of reprogramming, which allows you to break habits, change perceptions, and create new auto-responses to situations.

Binaural Beat Technology

Posted on Oct 7th 2007 at 11:26pm under Uncategorized by Richard Nongard

I now use binaural beats embedded into the background of my relaxation music in every hypnosis session.   I find people go to deeper level of trance, faster and more comfortably.  If you are not familiar with binaural beats, here is a synopsis of what it is all about:

Binaural beats or tones are processing artifacts, that is apparent sounds, the of which arises in the brain independent of physical . This effect was discovered in 1839 by Heinrich Wilhelm Dove.

In nature, two sounds that are similar but slightly shifted in frequency will beat to produce two new frequencies which are the average and the difference of the original two sounds. For example, a 400 Hz tone and a 410 Hz tone will form a ~405 Hz tone pulsating 10 times per second.

The brain produces a similar phenomenon internally, resulting in low-frequency pulsations in the loudness of a perceived sound when two tones at slightly different frequencies are presented separately, one to each of a subject’s ears, using stereo headphones. A beating tone will be perceived, as if the two tones mixed naturally, out of the brain. The frequency of the tones must be below about 1,000 to 1,500 hertz for the beating to be heard. The difference between the two frequencies must be small (below about 30 Hz) for the effect to occur; otherwise the two tones will be heard separately and no beat will be perceived.

Interest in binaural beats can be classified into two categories. First, they are of interest to neurophysiologists investigating the sense of hearing. Second, some protoscientists believe that binaural beats may influence the brain in more subtle ways through the entrainment of brainwaves and can be used to produce relaxation and other health benefits.

Binaural beats can be used to facilitate mood, physical healing, relaxation and make great tools to enhance hypnotic outcomes in hypnotherapy.  Check out our Binaural beat CD’s at www.SubliminalScience.com
